Brainy's BullCharts Workshops

Robert is the convenor of  the Australian BullCharts User Group,
and is now running hands-on BullCharts Workshops in Melbourne.

This is a series of six separate 2-hour workshops on Friday evenings, covering the use of the BullCharts share price charting software for company share price performance analysis, and stock selection (all Australian listed securities).  You can undertake just one workshop, or any number of them, or all.

Workshop #1
BullCharts software introduction — seminar and workshop

A seminar/workshop that gives a good overview of the BullCharts share price charting software. How to view price charts for all Australian listed companies. How to select companies/stocks for investment and how to analyse their share price performance. More details below.

Workshop #2
Share price chart basics workshop (and indicators intro)

Learn how to use BullCharts software to study share price performance. Place line studies and price indicator tools on price charts as a part of the analysis of share price performance. Learn how to manage watchlists of your preferred companies. Includes: searching for company ASX stock codes, the ins and outs of the price chart, chart types (candles, bars, line), templates and an introduction to price chart indicators (including Moving Average). More details below.

Price chart advanced features workshop

Learn how to use advanced features of the BullCharts software for advanced analysis of share price performance of publicly listed companies. Includes: many different chart types (Gann Swing, Point and Figure, Kagi, etc.), the live data option, IntelliCharts feature, multiple window panes, workspaces and more. More details below.


Workshop #4
Price chart indicators — advanced workshop

Learn more about the 200+ indicators that are included in the BullCharts software package, and how to fine tune them. Moving Average, Momentum, RSI, Bollinger Bands, MACD, and more. Indicators also include: various ribbons and bands. Some indicators are based on the strategies of famous book authors (eg. Guppy, Berg, Hull, Weinstein, Elder, Wilson, etc.). More details below.


Workshop #5
Market Scans (filters) to find preferred stocks — Introduction

How to use the BullCharts share price charting software to search for stocks with favourable share prices. The BullCharts scanning feature comprises easy-to-use drop-down selections to identify those stocks with share price behaviour matching your stock selection criteria. It also includes more than 100 supplied scans that are ready for you to easily customise, some of which are based on famous book author strategies. More details below.


Workshop #6 
Market Scans — Implementing your trading strategy

Already armed with the skills and knowledge to use the BullCharts scanning feature, this workshop will work through creating new scans based on sample trading strategy criteria. For example, your strategy might be to buy stocks that are confirmed to be in an uptrend, and exhibiting strength compared to the rest of the market. More details below.

Workshop #1 — BullCharts software introduction — seminar and workshop

Overview Who should attend?
  • The main purpose of this workshop/ seminar is to "demonstrate" the key features of the BullCharts software.
  • There will be computers with BullCharts available for use, if you want to use it. Otherwise, simply watch the demonstration and make notes in the hand-out booklet.
  • Key features of various charting packages (using BullCharts as an example).
  • A solid introduction to the BullCharts share price charting software.
  • Price Charts, and the features available with the chart (text, annotations, colours, lines, etc.).
  • The BullCharts "IntelliCharts" feature, to automatically save annotations to price charts.
  • An introduction to Watchlists in BullCharts - the hierarchical folder structure; creating new, renaming, adding stock codes to watchlists, using colours to advantage.
  • An introduction to creating and running Scans to select stocks for investing.
  • An introduction to technical analysis indicators (like Moving Average and MACD, etc.) - some basic ones and the chart options.

Workshop #4 — Price chart indicators — advanced workshop

  • Indicator types -Trend, Momentum, Oscillator, Volatility, Volume.
  • Common indicators - eg. Moving Average (MA), Multiple Moving Average (MMA), Bollinger Bands, RSI, On Balance Volume (OBV), MACD.
  • The Candle pattern indicator.
  • Other indicators and indicator features (eg. ribbons, bands).

  • Entities to scan and compare (price, chart features, indicators, indicator signals, fundamentals, BullScript).
  • Discuss a sample trading stategy (it can be your own, or one supplied).
  • How to write a BullCharts Scan to search for stocks that match these selection criteria.
  • Debug and develop the scan to completion.
  • "Match all criteria"?
  • "Advanced" tab options - Sort oder, Number of bars to load, Generate Bull Script.
  • How to test the strategy and Scan.
  • How to speed up the execution of your scan.
